First Lady Melania Trump spent her “giving Tuesday” sorting toys and creating hand-made Christmas cards at the annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve toy drive.
Melania has already been spreading the Christmas spirit with the annual Christmas tree lighting as well as designing gorgeous decorations all around the White House.
Today, she sat down with dozens of children from military families in the Washington DC area to sort through the thousands of toys donated to Toys for Tots.
“I have been looking forward to this event ever since last year’s ended. As a mother, I feel children are the most precious gift of all. They provide so much joy in life. I believe in the good work that Toys for Tots is doing.”
After the toys were sorted, Melania sat right down at the kids’ table to draw a snowman on a piece of construction paper, which will be sent to troops as a Christmas card.
The CEO of The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Ret. Lt. Gen. Henry Osman, praised the First Lady for highlighting this amazing cause and actually showing up to give a helping hand. He told reporters that Melania has been, “Our number 1 volunteer.”
“What a champ she has been,” Osman went on to tell reporters.
Melania is donating 100 books to a companion Toys for Tots literacy program. Today, she also gave the children in attendance coloring books and White House candies along with “Be Best” tote bags.
Do we have a wonderful First Lady or what?
