Rep. Ilhan Omar is doubling down on her claims that America is a racist country in her new op-ed featured in the New York Times today. The Minnesota Congresswoman is further trashing America as a bigoted country filled with bigoted people who mistreated her after our military saved her family from Somalia. Americans are rightfully outraged, and that’s why they destroyed her. Don’t miss this.
In her op-ed, “It Is Not Enough to Condemn Trump’s Racism,” Rep. Omar repeats a set of familiar — and discredited — attacks on President Donald Trump. The most egregious of these is her claim that the president “tacitly accepted” the white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, who chanted “Jews will not replace us” at a rally in August 2017.
In fact, Trump explicitly condemned them, several times, doing so “in the strongest possible terms” (Aug. 12, 2017), calling them “repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans” (Aug. 14), and saying they should be “condemned totally” (Aug. 15).
“Nowhere does Omar address her long history of antisemitic and racist statements, including a recently unearthed interview with Al-Jazeera in 2018 in which she said that Americans ought to be ‘more fearful of white men.’ Omar dodges criticism of her antisemitism by accusing Trump of ‘efforts to pit religious minorities against one another,’” Breitbart reports.
She also repeats a number of false claims about the administration’s policies, decrying “the caging of immigrant children at the border or the banning of Muslim immigrants or the allowing of segregation in public housing.”
But most telling is the passage in her op-ed where she describes her true feelings about America. Omar isn’t thankful to Americans who sent their sons to die in Somalia, shown brilliantly in the movie “Blackhawk Down,” nor is she grateful for America taking her in as a Somali refugee. She describes the discrepancy between “the America we expected to find and the one we actually experienced,” adding:
The America we arrived in was different from the one my grandfather had hoped to find. The land of opportunity he imagined in 1992 was in fact full of challenges. People identified me in ways that were foreign to me: immigrant, black. I learned that these identities carried stigmas, and I experienced prejudice as a visibly Muslim woman.
Omar never expresses gratitude toward the United States. She acknowledges that “our Constitution and democratic institutions are the tools to make it better,” but the country and its people, as they are, are simply not good enough for the Trump-hater.
Americans were rightly outraged at the ungrateful Congresswoman and destroyed her claims on social media.
“@Ilhan trashes @POTUS again in @nytimes She’s throwing bait; but doesn’t realize, behind @realDonaldTrump are 63-64 million who demand her ouster. Her tactics are lame, even in a country divided. Yes, they are stupid,” tweeted Angelo Cerrone.
“Jihad Jew-Hater Ilhan Omar Trashes America — Again — In New York Times Op-ed: America-haters, antisemites, racists, jihadis ascend to unmatched heights and exaltation because the left controls the culture. There will be a reckoning,” tweeted Pamela Geller.
“Send her back! Perhaps she then can appreciate what the US is today! Make her responsible for tax-fraud and marrying her brother if that is the case! How can she be a congresswoman if all is true?” tweeted Michael Preisfreund.
This really begs the question why would the New York Times feature this scandal-plagued Congresswoman and allow her to spew her ridiculous talking points? Why wouldn’t they send an unbiased investigative team to delve into all the shocking allegations which conservatives have uncovered about Omar?
Isn’t that the type of thing good newspapers used to do? Not anymore, and it hurts this country. If all Americans learned the truth about Omar: the very credible allegations she married her brother, her campaign finance violations and tax fraud charges, along with her lifelong successful attempts to game the American system, she would be back in Minneapolis — a Congresswoman nor more.
The reality is we don’t have unbiased reporters or newspapers anymore. That’s why we must take it upon ourselves to get the truth out to as many people as possible. Rep. Ilhan Omar is anti-American and anti-Semitic. Those are the facts, and she has no business representing Americans on Capitol Hill.
