President Donald Trump made his first visit to a war zone as the nation’s commander-in-chief. Trump and the first lady were enthusiastically received, and many were lined up to greet them.
Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, shared this tweet, saying, “President Trump and the First Lady traveled to Iraq late on Christmas night to visit with our troops and Senior Military leadership to thank them for their service, their success, and their sacrifice and to wish them a Merry Christmas.”
And while the mainstream media was all too happy to spread negative reports about Trump and the military, the president proved again how popular he is with the troops.
Many were prepared with their Make America Great Again caps, which the president happily signed. He generously took one selfie after another with the troops, who were obviously happy to have him there for the holiday visit.
First lady Melania Trump was so impressed that she took to Twitter early Thursday morning to share some intimate photos of the President and herself with the troops.
As you can see from the photos, the President and the First Lady were received with much enthusiasm. Take a look at the photos
Americans were quick to show their appreciation. Twitter users began lighting up the social media platform with comments expressing love and support, both for the first family and our wonderful service members.
Here’s what they had to say
God bless you Melania! Thank you for all that you do! Love you!
